Privacy policy

How Qué Playa Almería handles user privacy.

Controller and contact

The controller is the owner of the Qué Playa Almería website. The official contact channel is info@queplayaalmeria.com. No account is required to browse the website or submit a recent jellyfish report.

Technical browsing data

When visiting any website, technical data needed to deliver the page may be processed, such as IP address, access date and time, browser, operating system, requested URL or technical errors. These data may be processed by the hosting provider and infrastructure serving the website for security, availability and diagnostic purposes.

Recent jellyfish reports

If you submit a report, we process the selected beach, reported quantity, server date and time, the approximate accuracy and distance resulting from the proximity check and, if supplied, one photograph. Location is requested only after your explicit action to confirm that you are close to a beach. Exact coordinates are neither stored nor displayed publicly. The optional photograph is processed to remove metadata, is available only for moderation in Sanity and is not published automatically.

Fraud prevention and retention

To limit abusive submissions, the website uses a technical cookie containing a random identifier and creates pseudonymous device and network identifiers using a cryptographic function with a private secret. The raw IP address is not stored and these identifiers are not returned to the browser. Identifiers linked to a report and technical rate-limit events are deleted or detached after approximately 48 hours by the configured cleanup process. Reports may remain as moderation history without those technical identifiers.

Purpose and legal basis for reports

The purpose is to display recent user contributions and protect the service against fraud and abuse. The location check and voluntary submission are performed at the user's request; technical protection relies on the legitimate interest in maintaining the security and integrity of the service. You may close the form without submitting any data.

Providers

Vercel provides hosting and execution infrastructure. Sanity stores reports, private moderation data and optional photographs. These providers may process data on behalf of the controller under their applicable terms and safeguards, including where services outside the European Economic Area are involved.

Analytics with Google Analytics 4

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to statistically measure how the website is used, which pages are visited, which UTM campaigns bring traffic and which parts should be improved. The tool is Google Analytics 4 and the provider is Google Ireland Limited. We do not use Google Ads, remarketing or personalised advertising.

Legal basis and data processed

The legal basis for Google Analytics 4 is your consent. Data processed may include visited pages, basic interactions, technical browser or device information, traffic source, campaign parameters and approximate location data according to IP and Google's configuration. The consent preference is stored locally as qpa_cookie_consent and does not contain personal data.

Transfers and provider

Google Ireland Limited may process information with support from other Google entities, including outside the European Economic Area, applying the relevant safeguards. You can read Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time from the preferences panel available in the Cookie policy. If you reject or withdraw analytics cookies, analytics_storage remains denied and the website attempts to delete existing _ga cookies.

Advertising

The website does not display advertising or load Google Ads, AdSense, remarketing or advertising cookies. If advertising or commercial measurement is activated in the future, this policy must be updated and, where appropriate, specific consent must be requested before loading non-essential technologies.

Rights

You can request information about data processing and exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability where applicable by writing to info@queplayaalmeria.com. If you consider the processing inadequate, you may also contact the competent data protection authority.
